*BRRRAAAAHHHHMMM* Did you hear that? It’s the modern Christopher Nolan movie casting klaxon — and it’s just gone off again! Oh yeah, since the Oppenheimer Oscar winner set his next movie at Universal last month, the stars have been aligning at a dizzying rate to assist bring Nolan’s newest blockbuster to life. And overnight, news broke courtesy of THR that none other than the British auteur’s Tenet star Robert Pattinson has just become the latest addition to the stacked line-up for Nolan’s secrecy shrouded latest.

Pattinson, who’s currently filming Kristoffer Borgli joint The Drama with Zendaya, will join his co-star from that film in Nolan’s 13th movie. Among the gigantic names they’re set to appear opposite in this one are are previously announced cast members Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Lupita Nyong’o, and Anne Hathaway. And while we still are none the wiser as to what exactly Nolan’s modern movie will entail (period vampire movie, Blue Thunder riff, and something entirely different all remain viable possibilities at this stage), THR‘s sources suggest that Pattinson will be one of the movie’s co-leads, along with Damon, Holland, and Hathaway. Nyong’o and Zendaya are currently expected to play supporting roles in the picture.

Set to be self-written and directed by Nolan, who’s producing the movie alongside his producorial partner and wife Emma Thomas, one thing we do know is that this as-yet-untitled Universal joint will be another grand IMAX presentation from the Interstellar filmmaker. In a recent earnings call covered by Variety, IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond shared that Nolan is set to experiment with “new IMAX technology” and “never-before-used equipment” in his latest film. So whether it’s vampires, ‘copters, or none of the above we wind up getting, you can guarantee it’ll be absolutely massive! Just on that vampire rumour though, given his latest star’s past lives as a vampire and a bat, surely it’d be a little too on-the-nose for Nolan to have R-Pattz going all R-Battz again so soon? Surely? Hmm… We’ll find out on 17 July, 2026.
