This year’s Academy Awards have a lot to live up to. That ceremony is typically the biggest, best, and most star-studded event of the year, but Sunday’s SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration had a list of live and in-person attendees that will likely rival that of that upcoming awards ceremony (March 2, to be exact). Your move, Oscar.

It was a huge week for the 50-year-old sketch show, which made its debut on October 11, 1975. (Does that mean it’s not actually 50 yet? Sure, but let’s save the strict adherence to birth dates for your driver’s license.) On Friday night, luminaries packed Radio City Music Hall for SNL50: The Homecoming Concert. Then on Sunday, the main event: SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration, a three-hour live broadcast at the show’s longtime headquarters of Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center.

As Karen Valby noted for Vanity Fair, pretty much anyone of note with a relationship to the show made an appearance last night, including a scarce public appearance from Jack Nicholson, an in-sketch debut by Meryl Streep, and a quip from Ryan Reynolds on his and wife Blake Lively‘s public dispute with Justin Baldoni (who was not in attendance—though Reynolds’s ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson most certainly was).

Read on for a look at the stars who walked the SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration red carpet. The full live event is available to watch on Peacock, and you can read all of Vanity Fair‘s coverage of the anniversary here.

Sabrina Carpenter attends the SNL50: The Anniversary Special at 30 Rockefeller Center on February 16, 2025 in New York City.
