Ninety-six years ago, the very first Oscars were quietly handed out during a private dinner in Los Angeles. Times have changed since then, as the Oscars 2025 prove: The Academy Awards are now a slightly glitzier affair, and all that history has given each prize a lot more heft. You’ll hear as much from the Oscars winners 2025 as they take the stage at the Dolby Theatre tonight.
To no one’s surprise, A Real Pain’s Kieran Culkin took home the best supporting actor statue. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldaña managed a triumph in the best supporting actress category, despite the self-immolation of her costar Karla Sofía Gascón—which has had a chilling effect on the Oscar prospects of their film, the 13-time Oscar-nominated Emilia Pérez.
We continue to wonder if Conclave can ride a last-minute surge of goodwill all the way to best picture, or will it be bested by Anora or The Brutalist? Will the latter film’s star, Adrien Brody, win a second best-actor award? Or will he be upstaged by A Complete Unknown’s Timothée Chalamet—who would become that category’s youngest-ever winner if he made it to the finish line? Can The Substance’s Demi Moore triumph over her reputation as a “popcorn actress” to nab best actress on her very first Oscar nomination?
Though we’ve tried our best to predict the results of tonight’s ceremony, we won’t know any of the answers for sure until the winners are announced live. Look below for a full list of nominees and Oscar winners, updated as each one is revealed at the Academy Awards. For more on everything Oscars, follow along with our live story, which is stuffed with commentary, analysis, and insights from the ceremony and Vanity Fair’s famed Oscars party.
