Following the massive success of its teen-centered drama, Adolescence, Netflix is preparing to welcome another moving and captivating piece of television in just a few weeks with the May 2 arrival of Bad Boy. Today, Collider is thrilled to share the exclusive first look at the trailer for the award-winning series that hails from the original Euphoria’s co-creator, Ron Leshem. Based on true events, the Hebrew-language drama promises to pull audiences in and hold on tightly as it follows one adolescent man’s nightmarish experience with a juvenile detention center. Starring Guy Manster (Mama’s Angel), the eight-episode production follows the teen’s fight to shake off his bad boy ways and set himself up for a future filled with success.

The trailer for Bad Boy is nothing compact of what one would expect from one of the minds who first introduced audiences to the terrifying teen world of Euphoria through the Hebrew-language production that inspired HBO’s English-language offshoot. The opening moments reveal Manster’s Dean being arrested and sent off to a juvenile detention center. Once there, he does his best to fit in with the other boys, using his sense of humor to deflect from hard situations. There are also plenty of pressure-filled moments that showcase Leshem’s original stamp on the series, with the teens tossed into incredibly alarming life-or-death situations while trapped behind bars. Giving us a sense of a cheerful ending, we also get a peek of how Dean’s life turns out, as we see an adult version of the character (Daniel Chen) performing stand-up in front of a crowd.

In addition to Manster and Chen, Bad Boy will also feature performances from Havtamo Farda, Neta Plotnik (Loving Anna), Ben Sultan (Wonder), Liraz Chamami (Happy Times), Yaniv Levi (Motherland), Amjad Shawa (Dismissed), and more. Along with Leshem, the project is also a co-creation of Chen, Hagar Ben Asher, Roy Florentine, Moshe Malka, Amit Cohen, and Daniel Amsel, who each also co-penned the series with Asher directing.

‘Bad Boy’ Is Already a Critical Favorite

Contrary to its title, Bad Boy’s reputation is anything but “bad.” After celebrating its world premiere in 2023 at the Toronto International Film Festival, the series took off like wildfire, becoming one of the event’s most talked-about titles. From there, it welcomed a whopping seven wins at the local television academy awards, including the highly-sought-after title of Best Drama Series.

Check out Collider’s exclusive first look at the trailer for Bad Boy above and watch as it rises to the peak of Netflix’s Top 10 when the title arrives on May 2.
