Egyptian actor Hassan El Raddad is looking forward to standing on stage again through the play “Television,” which brings him together with his wife, actress Amy Samir Ghanem, and will be shown for three days at the El Alamein Festival in the middle of this month.
El Raddad said in his interview with Asharq Al-Awsat that there are other works that will bring him together with Amy, whom he described as having “only revealed a quarter of her comedic talent.”
Expressing feelings and emotions is considered the most difficult part of acting by El-Raddad, who said, “Acting is not done in gyms, so I prefer to go against the grain and go against the norm in my artistic choices, based on my belief that art is a message and the artist has an influential voice, and he must present to people what entertains and benefits them.”
He confirmed that he loved the idea of the program “Dub” and praised his experience as a broadcaster for the first time through the program “Al-Layla Dob”, as he is working on more than one new idea to enter the upcoming Ramadan season.
Regarding this matter, he said: “This is my first experience in presenting programs, and it is a big responsibility. I was hosting 4 stars from the Arab world in each episode. Also, its nature as an entertainment program requires the presenter to deal with kindness, lightheartedness, quick wit, and create a sweet spirit with his guests, and these are things that do not depend on a script.”
He confirmed his insistence on going against the grain in choosing his artworks, praising the work team chosen by MBC, and explaining that “the program is based on an international format and was produced in Germany, France, Britain, and other countries, and for the first time, a version of it is being produced in the Middle East.”
El-Raddad does not wish to repeat the filming conditions during Ramadan, stressing that the program did not take him away from acting, saying: “The program has a theater, an audience, and comedic situations with the guests.”
He stressed that he does not like filming during Ramadan while fasting, as it is very stressful. He also emphasized that the series “Warrior” succeeded because it respects the viewer’s mind and discusses more than one issue that concerns people.
El-Raddad is preparing to film his latest cinematic work, “Taha Al-Gharib,” which comes in a romantic setting, according to him, based on a novel by Muhammad Sadiq and directed by Othman Abu Laban.
Al-Radad confirmed that he will work with his wife, Amy, saying: “There is more than one idea being worked on, and despite the fact that taking care of our son Fadi takes up Amy’s time, I am chasing her to present artistic works, because she is a great talent who has not yet released a quarter of her comedic energy.”
