Jinga adds action sci-fi ‘Nobel & the Kid’ and supernatural thriller ’The Haven” to Cannes line-up

UK-based sales agent and genre specialist Jinga Films has acquired world sales rights to James Anthony Usas’ action sci-fi Nobel And The Kid and Riccardo Cannella’s supernatural thriller The Haven ahead of Cannes. 

Nobel And The Kid marks Usas’ directorial debut and is produced by Ryan Keller for Other Animal Entertainment. Athena Park and Josh Bainbridge star as a newborn warrior and her guardian who set out on a journey through a violent dystopian future to avenge the brutal murder of her father. Lord Burke costars. 

It is now in post, having shot in Ontario, Canada.  

The Haven stars Fabio Troiano as a father who escapes to the countryside with his family following the outbreak of a deadly virus. They are reluctantly given refuge by a farmer, played by Francesco Foti), but after the slaughter of a cow and the appearance of a mysterious senior woman in the forest, they realise it is not the secure haven they hoped it was. 

The thriller is written, produced and directed by Riccardo Cannella for Italy’s Cinnamon Production and si co-produced by Pier Francisco Aiello of P.F.A Films, Luca Marino and Miriam Rizzo. It will have its Italian premiere at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily this June.

Also on Jinga’s slate are dystopian action-adventure Sword Of Vengeance, described as “the Serbian Mad Max”, which will receive its market premiere screening in Cannes, and psychological horror The Dollmaker.
