Would ewe believe it? It may have been just a few compact months since Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl came out, bringing our favourite Wensleydale-loving inventor, his brainy canine pal, and felonious counterfeit fowl Feathers McGraw back to our screens, but those clever eggs over at Aardman are already tough at work on their next claymation creation. Today, the legendary Bristol-based animation outfit announced that a brand fresh feature, Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom, is in the works and readying a 2026 release as a Sky Original movie.

Having first stole our hearts in W&G outing A Close Shave thirty years ago, Aardman’s rambunctious ram has since gone on to become a superstar in his own right, starring in his own self-titled TV series and two critically acclaimed films — Shaun The Sheep: The Movie and A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. Per The Beast Of Mossy Bottom‘s official announcement, Shaun’s trilogy-making next outing will see “the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween – until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns MAD SCIENTIST to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.” Anybody else getting some Curse Of The Were-Rabbit vibes from this set-up? Hmm? Hmm? Hmm…

Penned by Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Paddington in Peru, Shaun The Sheep Movie) and Giles Pilbrow (Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas), and directed by The Flight Before Christmas‘ Steve Cox alongside Lloyd Of The Flies‘ Matthew Walker, there’s plenty of family affable animated pedigree moulding this one. Will it be a shear delight though? Or will it leave us wondering what the flock Aardman were thinking? We’ll find out when Shaun The Sheep: The Beast From Mossy Bottom arrives on Sky next year. Personally, we’ve got every faith we’re in for another ovine comedy from Aardman. We’ll grab our (woolly) coats…
