Now that Season 6 of The Chosen is officially in the books, with filming coming to an end last week in Texas, audiences can begin to look forward to the onslaught of promotional material and updates ahead of its eventual arrival. But, if 2026 seems a little bit too far off, the series’ creator, Dallas Jenkins, has just the thing to hold you over. Today, Collider is thrilled to share the exclusive first look at The Chosen Adventures, an animated take on the story of Jesus that’s appropriate for the whole family. Featuring the vocal talents of Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), Jordin Sparks (Left Behind), Yvonne Orji (Insecure), and the very familiar voice of The Chosen’s Jonathan Roumie, who reprises his role as Jesus, the series promises to deliver plenty of light-heartedness, all while telling familiar stories from the Bible.

As inquisitive as they come, the opening of The Chosen Adventures trailer introduces viewers to our teenage protagonist, Abby (Romy Fay), who spends her days frollicking around the historic city of Capernaum with her best friend Joshua (Jude Zarzaur), her sheep (Hauser), and a pigeon (Orji). The quartet’s paths soon cross with Jesus’ (Roumie), who is kneeling in prayer when his visitors appear at his doorstep. Loaded with questions for the religious teacher, Abby isn’t shy about asking anything and everything to better understand the world around her, and Jesus is content to oblige. With her companions by her side and Jesus guiding their steps, Abby and her crew set off on colorful and endless adventures, all while getting into a little trouble along the way.

Roumie isn’t the only member of the live-action series whose voice and character will make it into the vivid world of The Chosen Adventures, with others like Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, George H. Xanthis, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Brandon Potter, and Joey Vahedi set to reprise their characters in animated form. Additionally, the call sheet also includes Danny Nucci (Titanic), Omid Abtahi (The Boys), and Debi Derryberry (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius).

What Is Next for ‘The Chosen’?

The end is in sight for the Biblical series that took Prime Video by storm, with Season 6 serving as the penultimate installment of The Chosen. Already setting itself up for financial success and massive viewership numbers, the title is planning a cinematic takeover for the Season 6 finale, which will focus on the crucifixion, and the Season 7 premiere, which will depict the resurrection. Beyond that, Jenkins and his team are already busy working on a prequel series titled Joseph of Egypt, which will follow the Old Testament story of the titular figure.

Check out the exclusive first look at The Chosen Adventures above and see the fun unfold when the title hits Prime Video on October 17.
