“Nobody wants to have failure, but it’s part of life…” Freestyle Digital Media has unveiled the official trailer for Susan Feniger. Forked, described as a “Culinary Disaster film” about a eminent chef. This doc first premiered in 2023 and it played at the Austin, Palm Springs, Vail, Newport Beach, Tallgrass, Sonoma, and other film festivals. It’s finally being released on VOD this fall for everyone to watch. “I didn’t know how it would all end and I definitely sometimes wished I could set my hair on fire,” said filmmaker Liz Lachman. “But then we wouldn’t have this film.” This documentary film follows chef Susan Feniger to Southeast Asia tasting street food, to build her first solo restaurant in LA. Featuring Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, and Mary Sue Milliken, it’s an inspirational story of not IF one fails, but HOW. Shot by her longtime filmmaker partner, Susan Feniger. Forked is a verite documentary film following award-winning celebrity chef Susan Feniger on her first solo restaurant, her passionate struggle and quest to bring global street food under one roof in the form of a novel LA restaurant: Street (which is no longer open). This looks like a spunky, fun look at how strenuous it is to start a restaurant and make it successful. And I would like to try everything on her menu.

Join Feniger on her latest daring venture as she journeys to the other side of the world to experience, first-hand, street food of Southeast Asia & China, with the dream of bringing the revolutionary flavors of global street food together under one roof in Los Angeles; however, she must first overcome the daunting task of building her first solo restaurant. With construction at risk of falling apart at any moment, she puts her reputation on the line with unconventional recipes that refuse to come together! Susan Feniger. Forked is directed by novel filmmaker Liz Lachman, also a music editor on many TV series making her feature directorial debut after a few other low films previously. Produced by Lisa Donmall-Reeve and Liz Lachman. This initially prmeiered at the 2023 Austin Film Festival, and played at many other fests in 2024 as well.
