A24 has acquired global distribution rights to Jordan Firstman’s Club Kid, one of the buzzy titles on the opening week of Cannes Film Festival.

The company took the film after a competitive bidding war, with Netflix, Mubi, and Searchlight all in the mix at one stage. UTA Independent Film Group and Charades represent sales rights on the film.

Club Kid had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard at Cannes last week.

Written and directed by Firstman, the film follows a washed-up party promoter who is forced to turn his life around when an unexpected visitor arrives. Firstman stars alongside Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, Eldar Isgandarov, and newcomer Reggie Absolom.

Producers are Alex Coco and Galen Core, with Topic Studio’s Ryan Heller and Michael Bloom. Topic Studios financed the film with Stay Gold as co-financier. Firstman is executive producer with Ian Stratford, Charles Croft and Jasmine Daghighian for Topic, Olmo Schnabel, and Daniela Taplin for Stay Gold.
