The “Lebanese International Theater Festival” concludes its activities today at the Lebanese National Theater in Tripoli under the slogan “Greetings from Tripoli to the steadfast South.” The third session of the festival began on the 24th with the participation of Arab and foreign theatrical performances from Portugal, Tunisia, Algeria, the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Italy, Palestine, and Lebanon.

The festival in its current session has paid tribute to the late great actor Samir Shams. The festival’s official competition includes theatrical performances competing for the awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Direction, Best Script, Best Complete Show, and the Jury Award, which includes the great actor Omar Mikati, the writer and director Salah Atwi, and the artist Bahiya Zayyat.

About the Festival
The festival, in its third session, is organized by the Tiro Arts Association and the Istanbul Theater. Our slogan is “Love is resistance and theater is revolution.” It is a tribute to all revolutionaries and fighters for freedom, justice, and dignity.

The Tiro Association for Arts, led by volunteer youth, aims to create free and independent cultural spaces in Lebanon by rehabilitating Al Hamra Cinema, Stars Cinema in Nabatieh, and Rivoli Cinema in Tyre, which was transformed into the Lebanese National Theater as the first free theater and cinema in Lebanon, and Amber Cinema in Tripoli, which was transformed into the Lebanese National Theater in Tripoli, holding workshops and artistic training for children and youth, reopening and rehabilitating cultural spaces, organizing festivals, activities and art exhibitions, and programming artistic and educational film screenings for children and youth, and building exchange networks with international festivals and providing an opportunity for young directors to screen their films and introduce the public to the history of cinema and local and international screenings. Among the festivals it founded are: Lebanon International Theater Festival, Shouf Lebanon Mobile Cinema Festival, Tripoli International Theater Festival, Tyre International Music Festival, Lebanon International Storyteller Theater Festival, Tyre International Festival of Fine Arts, Tyre Cultural Days Festival, Lebanon Theater Festival for Women Monodrama, Lebanon Theater Festival for Contemporary Dance, Tiro International Art Festival, Tyre International Theater Festival.
