Artist Carmen Soliman’s New Album "Habayeb Qalbi" Achieves Her Dreams
Carmen Soliman, an Egyptian artist, has revealed that her new album "Habayeb Qalbi" has achieved everything she dreamed of while preparing for it. In statements to Asharq Al-Awsat, Carmen expressed her satisfaction with the album, saying that she favors women when choosing her songs.
The Making of the Album
Carmen explained that the idea for the album started during preparatory sessions with her husband, the artist and producer Mustafa Gad, and the artist Aziz El Shafei. Aziz presented them with new musical and lyrical ideas and forms, some of which Carmen liked, and they decided to present them in a small album that includes 4 songs, including 3 songs with lyrics by Aziz, and one song with lyrics by Mona Adly El Qayei.

Carmen revealed that three songs in the album are in line with the fast pace of summer, in addition to a sad song. The most prominent feature of the album is the participation of 4 music distributors at the highest level in it, namely Tarek Madkour, Toma, Amr El-Khodary, and Yehia Youssef.

Carmen puts singing before acting in her artistic schedule. "Singing is part of my life and personality. I love acting, and I love to present it constantly. I was very happy with my experience with the great artist Yehia El-Fakharany in the play (Yama fi El-Grab), but the play had specific dates, which enabled me to coordinate my schedule of concerts and songs. As for acting in a TV or cinema drama, it might take time from singing, and I prefer singing to acting."

Carmen revealed that she prefers songs that are biased towards women, saying "Women and girls are the most beautiful things that God created. We are the most beautiful things in the world, and therefore I must bias my songs towards women.
