Egyptian artist Nahid Rushdi passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, after a struggle with illness, at the age of 68.

The daughter of the Egyptian artist, Dina Saad, announced her death and wrote on Facebook: “To God belongs what He has taken and to God belongs what He has given… My beloved mother, Nahed Rushdi, has passed away,” according to Egyptian media reports.

Followers on social media circulated the irony of the artist’s death on the same day as her birth, September 14.

Artist’s Career and Legacy

The late actress graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts – Acting Department in 1982, to begin an artistic career that lasted for nearly 40 years. Rushdi began her artistic career in 1979 with artist Abdel Moneim Madbouly in the series “No, My Dear Daughter”, and was nicknamed “The Black Horse” in the nineties after presenting 6 works in 1996.

The late artist was famous for her role in the series “I Will Not Live in My Father’s Robe,” in which she played the character of Saniya, the daughter of Abdel Ghafour Al-Barai. Her wedding scene in the series was popular among fans of the series, which starred the late artist Nour El-Sherif.
