Top Release: Transformers One Leads the Way

Transformers One is leading new releases at the UK and Ireland box office this weekend, opening in 583 cinemas.

Franchise Track Record:

The Transformers franchise has a strong track record at the box office, with its third title, Dark Of The Moon, opening on £10.7m in 2011, and last year’s most recent addition, Rise Of The Beasts, opening on £2.5m.

  • Buffalo Kids: Warner Bros is releasing this Spanish animation in 555 cinemas, following the story of two Irish siblings who find themselves on an orphan train in New York.
  • Salem’s Lot: Warner Bros is also releasing this Stephen King horror in 467 venues, directed by Gary Dauberman and centered around a writer returning to his hometown for inspiration.

  • Jigra: Moviegoers Entertainment is releasing this Indian thriller in 120 venues, following a troubled young woman who must rescue her brother from prison.
  • Sound Of Hope: The Story Of Possum Trot: Angel Studios is launching this drama in 82 cinemas, inspired by the true story of a Texas-based Reverend whose church members adopted 77 children from the foster system.
  • Timestalker: Vertigo Releasing is releasing this fantasy romance in 88 locations, directed, written, and starring Alice Lowe as a woman who is reincarnated every time she falls in love with the wrong man.
  • In Restless Dreams: The Music Of Paul Simon: Altitude is opening this music documentary in 80 venues on Sunday (October 13) only, following the musician as he records his latest album and looks back at his six-decade career.
  • Stuntman: Trinity Film and Cine Asia are launching this Cantonese-language action film in 57 cinemas, centreing on a washed-up stunt director who stages a comeback while trying to fix his relationship with his daughter.
  • Portraits Of Dangerous Women: Bulldog Film Distribution is releasing this comedy-drama in 24 venues, following three women who form an unexpected bond after a bizarre road accident.
