The shorter teaser debuted just last month, but there’s plenty more frightening footage to see here. Produced by Jason Blum & Blumhouse, this is a fresh update on the classic Universal Monster originally invented with the 1941 film The Wolf Man. Most recently there was the 2010 remake called The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro (anyone remember it?) plus tons of other werewolf flicks.

From Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, the creators of the chilling modern monster tale The Invisible Man, comes a terrifying new lupine nightmare: Wolf Man. The new tagline: "What if someone you loved became something else?" A man must save himself and his family when they are stalked, terrorized, and haunted by a deadly werewolf at night during a full moon. Christopher Abbott stars with Julia Garner, Sam Jaeger, Matilda Firth, Ben Prendergast, and Benedict Hardie. Don’t expect a full reveal of the Wolf Man yet, that never happens this early. From this trailer the movie feels like it’s borrowing from The Fly, showing him gradually changing into a monster.

Story

Christopher Abbott stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (Julia Garner), fraying, Blake persuades her to take a break from the city and visit the property with their daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth). But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, they barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.
