“You want to honor all that, but you also want to find your own understanding…” 🎸 20th Century Studios has revealed a making of featurette for the movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, a look back at the early days of rock superstar Bruce Springsteen in the 80s creating his album called “Nebraska”. This rock ‘n roll musical biopic celebration will hit theaters nationwide in delayed October this fall. Inspired by the book of the same name, it follows Bruce Springsteen’s journey in creating and recording his 1982 album “Nebraska” in his Jersey bedroom, which emerged just as he was recording “Born in the USA” with the E Street Band. The film stars Jeremy Allen White as “The Boss”, Mr. Springsteen, and is written & directed by Scott Cooper. The cast also includes Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant & manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Bruce’s father, Doug; Odessa Young as his love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin; David Krumholtz as record exec Al Teller. This is a quick inside look at the filmmaking process – featuring Bruce himself providing his endorsement of JAW and his performance in it. View below.

Made by 20th Century Studios, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a youthful musician on the cusp of global superstardom (starring Jeremy Allen White as The Boss), struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Taped on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life & is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Scott Cooper, director of the films Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, Black Mass, Hostiles, Antlers, and The Pale Blue Eye previously. The screenplay is also written by Scott Cooper, based on the book “Deliver Me from Nowhere” by Warren Zanes. It’s produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson and Scott Stuber. 20th Century Studios will release Cooper’s Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere film in theaters nationwide starting on October 24th, 2025 this fall.
