Benedict Cumberbatch is to be honoured with a Golden Eye Award at the 2025 Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), which takes place from September 25 to October 5.

Cumberbatch will receive the award in person on September 29. He will also give insights into his career at a ZFF Masters talk, accompanied by a screening of his latest film The Thing With Feathers, which he produced with his company SunnyMarch and Lobo Films.

Cumberbatch is being honoured for a career that includes roles in Sherlock, The Power Of The Dog, The Imitation Game, 12 Years A Slave and Avengers: Infinity War.

“Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most versatile character actors of his generation,” said Christian Jungen, festival director of the Zurich Film Festival. “He comes from the theatre, masters his craft in every role and gives his characters emotional depth.”

Zurich has previously screened seven of Cumbertatch’s films: Atonement (2007), Third Star (2010), Black Mass (2015), The Current War (2017), The Courier (2020), The Electrical Life Of Louis Wain (2021) and The Power Of The Dog (2021).
