“We need to find him… let’s save Christmas.” MGM Studios has debuted a second trailer for Red One, a big holiday action comedy from filmmaker Jake Kasdan, director of the recent Jumanji movies. Is this going to flop big or a big hit? After a shocking abduction from the North Pole, the Commander of the E.L.F. Task Force must partner with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter to save X-Mas. Starring J.K. Simmons as a super buff, badass Santa, referred to as just Nick. He gets kidnapped, somehow, by some dark forces so “Callum Drift” – Head of Security for North Pole – brings in Jack O’Malley, an expert bounty hunter, to help find him and save Christmas. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, with Kristofer Hivju as Krampus & Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus. “Red One is a fire-breathing X-Mas action movie that completely reinvents the holiday genre.” Huh, okay…? This doesn’t look much better than the first trailer, but they’re certainly trying. Is any of this actually funny?
