Two legends of espionage storytelling are clashing today in Netflix’s debut trailer and poster for its upcoming gripping series, The Beast in Me. Starring Homeland’s Claire Danes and The AmericansMatthew Rhys, the streamer’s latest thriller is bound to keep viewers guessing until the very last episode. Backed by showrunner, writer, and executive producer, Howard Gordon, who holds credits on favorites including Homeland, The X-Files, and 24, the production is eyeing an arrival date of November 13, with all eight installments dropping at once, giving audiences the perfect binging experience.

Danes’ Aggie Wiggs is looking for answers and maybe even some inspiration at the beginning of the trailer for The Beast in Me. The famed author has been through a tremendous amount of trauma over the last few years after the death of her teenage son forced her to go into hiding, blocking out everyone and everything around her. However, all of that changes when she gets a fresh neighbor, Rhys’ Nile Jarvis, who has a obscure and sordid history of his own. Famous for his heaping stacks of cash thanks to his real estate business, Nile is also well known for another reason, as many believe he’s the man to blame for the disappearance of his wife. Finding a kindred soul in the misunderstood man, Aggie quickly begins to form a bond with her fresh neighbor. Unfortunately, she’s about to be faced with some terrifying possibilities, not just about Nile, but also about herself.

In addition to Danes and Rhys, The Beast in Me is also led by Brittany Snow (The Hunting Wives) and Natalie Morales (The Morning Show) with a supporting ensemble that includes Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul), Tim Guinee (Stargate SG-1), Deirdre O’Connell (The Penguin), David Lyons (Game of Silence), Hettienne Park (Hannibal), Will Brill (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), Aleyse Shannon (Black Christmas), Bill Irwin (Lady in the Water), Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul) and Kate Burton (Inventing Anna).

Meet the Creative Team Behind ‘The Beast in Me’

The Beast in Me gives Danes and Gordon a chance to reunite following the pair’s long-running history behind the beloved Showtime series, Homeland. On top of starring, Danes also joins Gordon as an executive producer alongside a team that also includes the fresh project’s director, Antonio Campos (The Staircase), and its creator and writer, Gabe Rotter (The X-Files). Filling out the rest of the team of executive producers are Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, and David Kissinger under the Conaco banner, as well as Daniel Pearle (American Crime Story), Caroline Baron (Severance), and two-time Academy Award-winner, Jodie Foster.

Check out the debut trailer above and stream The Beast in Me on Netflix on November 13.
