Disney has revealed a up-to-date making of featurette for Tron: Ares, the epic sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy continuing the story about A.I. programs taking over. From Norwegian director Joachim Rønning, this sci-fi tech movie follows highly sophisticated Program Ares, who’s sent from the digital world into the real world on a hazardous mission, marking humankind’s first real encounter with A.I. beings. Greta Lee plays Eve Kim, the human lead in this – who’s a tech genius, analytical & observant. She’s one of the world’s best programmers: reclusive, anti social, and an significant renegade in stopping the rogue programs. Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges back as the OG Kevin Flynn. This opens in theaters early October in about one month from now. They’re ramping up the marketing – another up-to-date poster included below and more trailers / videos on the way as we count down the time to opening day.

Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares (starring Jared Leto), who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a hazardous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings. The highly anticipated sequel to the sci-fi classics Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010). Tron: Ares, also known as Tron 3, is directed by Norwegian writer / filmmaker Joachim Rønning, director of the movies Bandidas, Max Manus: Man of War, Kon-Tiki, then he moved to Disney & made Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and last year’s Young Woman and the Sea previously. The screenplay is written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. Based on the original characters created by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird for the original Tron (1982). Produced by Sean Bailey, Jared Leto, Steven Lisberger, Emma Ludbrook, Jeffrey Silver, and Justin Springer.
