Just when you thought it was secure to go back to the *checks notes* perilously elevated, climber unfriendly landmark… along comes Fall 2. Yes, following the runaway streaming success of Scott Mann’s teeth-sweatingly tense thriller Fall back in 2022, producers Tea Shop Productions wasted no time putting in an order for a sequel, promising more high altitude to come. Now, three years on, we’re finally learning more about what incoming directors Peter and Michael Spierig’s sequel has in store.
Per Deadline‘s reporting, Fall 2‘s novel trio of teenage, soon-to-be-imperilled leads are Outlander: Blood Of My Blood and Pennyworth star Harriet Slater, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story‘s Arsema Thomas, and Tom Brittney, perhaps best known for playing Will Davenport in cosy British crime drama Grantchester. And if the 2,000ft TV tower from the last film just wasn’t quite elevated enough to really get your blood pumping, then fear not: this bunch have an extra thousand feet of “Oh Jesus Christ, no!” to contend with. Check out the official synopsis for the film, co-written by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank, below;
“Overwhelmed by her sister Hunter’s death, Jax (Slater) connects with Luce (Thomas), Hunter’s fearless friend. To heal, they attempt the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan in Thailand. After a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a frail plank 3000 feet in the air, Jax must confront her deepest fears and fight for survival to find closure.”
Seriously, have these people never heard of eating lots of ice cream, playing Animal Crossing, and listening to Joe Hisaishi scores to heal? Or pushing it all down until you find yourself crying at a lukewarm reboot that catches you off guard with a right-hook of nostalgia? Sheesh! But alas, their loss is very much our anxiety-addled gain — and with Fall 2 already in the can, we can look forward to sweating bullets and clenching our cheeks down at the local multiplex when the movie hits cinemas in early 2026.
