The Fayoum International Film Festival for Environment and Climate Films, in its first session, which begins tomorrow, Monday, November 25, and continues until the 30th of the same month, revealed that Palestine has been chosen as the festival’s guest of honor, in addition to organizing a Palestinian day that includes a group of Palestinian activities, in addition to artistic and cinematic performances about Palestine, as guest of honor. Festival.

Critic Nahed Salah, the artistic director of the festival, said that the Fayoum Festival is celebrating Palestine in a special way during its first session, by choosing it as the guest of honor for the first session, and in this context, a full day is organized that includes a group of different activities in the presence of a number of leaders of the Palestinian embassy and a number of stars and filmmakers. .

 

Nahid Salah added that the festival has set November 28 to be Palestinian Day, which begins with an opening attended by Naji Al-Naji, the cultural advisor to the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo, during which the festival’s guests and followers will witness a bazaar of Palestinian products, a display of Palestinian heritage artifacts, in addition to a Palestinian fashion show of modern designs inspired by heritage. Designed by Palestinian journalist Nidal Al-Natour.

The Artistic Director of the Fayoum Festival added that the Palestinian Day also includes Palestinian Dabke, in addition to the screening of the films “From Distance Zero,” a group of short films released by Palestinian director Rashid Masharawi. These are films from Gaza that were filmed under the weight of the genocidal war to which the Palestinian people are subjected. This takes place in a variety of forms, including fiction, documentary, and documentary. In a good gesture, Al-Natour Center for Studies and Research grants a financial prize of one thousand dollars to the directors of Zero Distance films, in appreciation of their efforts and creativity despite the difficult circumstances. surrounding.

The Fayoum Festival also announced that the opening ceremony includes a strong and influential speech by Dr. Nisreen Al-Tamimi, Minister of the Palestinian Environmental Quality Authority, in which she talks about many details related to the environment and what her country is suffering in this regard, noting the importance of having artistic events that care about the environment.

It is noteworthy that the Fayoum Film Festival for environmental films and contemporary arts is organized by the Masar Foundation for Culture and Arts, and is held under the patronage of Fayoum Governorate, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of the Region, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Environment, Fayoum University, the National Cinema Center, the Tourism Promotion Authority, and Red Star Company.
