“My whole family is going to really need you… So you’ll stay for dinner tonight, and then maybe after we can have a sleepover.” Catch an early first look teaser for this low film premiering at the upcoming 2025 Sundance Film Festival this month. Such Good Friends is the latest creation from the team that made the excellent comedy low The Cowboy and the Samurai which we featured a few years ago. Their next brand fresh 11 minute low is about a friend and a family. After ending a toxic friendship, a people pleaser finds herself falling into elderly patterns with her former best friend’s family. Apparently including a sleepover? Ha. Starring Mindy Sterling, Niamh O’Neill Culhane, Jared Lo Nigro, and Rachel Rambaldi. Directed by Bri Klaproth, written by Jon Walkup and Bri Klaproth. I’m always ecstatic to support low films and as a huge fan of their last one, this one is already on my radar at Sundance this year. Keep an eye out for it there.

After reevaluating a toxic friendship, Emma tries to overcome her people-pleasing ways by cutting ties with a life-long friend. The next day, she learns that her decision has ended more than just a friendship. Emma finds herself falling into elderly patterns with her ex-best friend’s family, while she struggles to keep a dim secret from them. Such Good Friends is a low film directed by up-and-coming indie filmmaker Bri Klaproth (follow her on IG @briklaproth), who has produced & created a few other low films including Vimeo Staff Pick for Herly and the viral low The Cowboy and the Samurai. The screenplay is co-written by Jon Walkup and Bri Klaproth. Produced by Bri Klaproth, Jon Walkup, and Rachel Rambaldi. The film is premiering at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival this month, playing as part of Short Film Program #5 there. Catch the film at the festival and stay tuned for updates. The low was also funded on Kickstarter last year.
