“I’m just gonna do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure.” Sony Pictures has debuted a recent “Day One on set” promo video for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, showing a quick behind-the-scenes look at them filming the recent Spider-Man movie (due out next summer). This is the fourth solo Spider-Man with Tom Holland, produced in partnership with Marvel Studios and made by Sony. It’s actually really refreshing to see a major movie studio not being afraid of allowing people to get a glimpse at production as it’s happening – literally on Day 1 of filming. This next one is being directed by filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (also seen in this video), who also directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings before this, and is taking over for director Jon Watts. Spider-Man: Brand New Day once again stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, who is trying to move on from being the superhero Spider-Man after his multiverse experience in No Way Home, alas he’s back to fight off more villains. The cast includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, and Michael Mando as the villain Scorpion. They just started filming last week in Glasgow, Scotland, which is doubling for NYC. This stunt rig has Spidey on top of a tank & various cars while swinging through New York streets.

The continuing adventures of Peter Parker after Spider-Man: No Way Home (in 2021). Peter Parker tries to focus on college and leave Spider-Man behind… But when a recent threat endangers his friends, he must break his promise and suit up again, teaming with an unexpected ally to protect those he loves. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by the acclaimed American filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (who’s from Hawaii!), director of the films I Am Not a Hipster, Short Term 12, The Glass Castle, Just Mercy, and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings previously, plus episodes of “American Born Chinese” series. The screenplay is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers; based on the Marvel comic book by Stan Lee (RIP) and Steve Ditko. Produced by Avi Arad, Louis D’Esposito, Rachel O’Connor, Amy Pascal, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. Sony Pictures will debut Destin Daniel Cretton’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie in theaters worldwide starting July 31st, 2026 next summer. Looking good? Who’s excited already?
