“The universe is large and it contains multitudes but… it also contains me.” Neon has unveiled the teaser trailer for The Life of Chuck, the acclaimed up-to-date film from master filmmaker Mike Flanagan. This was a substantial at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Audience Award at the end of the fest. TIFF sets it up: “With The Life of Chuck, Mike Flanagan takes a detour from the macabre to explore one of Stephen King’s alternate sensibilities in an adaptation that carries the spirit of his most optimistic work. The world feels like it’s ending and everybody’s saying goodbye to Chuck.” A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King’s novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz. The substantial ensemble cast has Chiwetel Ejiofor & Tom Hiddleston, with Karen Gillan, Annalise Basso, Benjamin Pajak, Mia Sara, Matthew Lillard, Carl Lumbly, Samantha Sloyan, Harvey Guillén, Jacob Tremblay, Kate Siegel, and Mark Hamill. Not much footage to see here yet, but enough to get your interest and make you want to pay attention. This is going to be a must watch film this summer. Enjoy.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Mike Flanagan’s film The Life of Chuck, direct from Neon’s YouTube:

The Life of Chuck Poster

Wherever Marty (Chiwetel Ejiofor) goes, he can’t get away from Charles Krantz (Tom Hiddleston)… His face is showing up on billboards, signs — even on TV. What’s so special about this seemingly ordinary accountant & why does he warrant such a sendoff? Their connection includes Marty’s ex-wife, her co-worker, his neighbor, and just about everyone else they know. Chuck’s life story soon begins to unravel in front of us, going back to a childhood with grandfather Albie (Mark Hamill), who teaches him about accounting and passes on a love for dancing, all the while keeping him from a prophetic secret in the attic. The Life of Chuck is directed by acclaimed genre filmmaker Mike Flanagan, director of “The Haunting of Hill House”, “Midnight Mass”, “The Midnight Club”, “The Fall of the House of Usher” series, plus the films Oculus, Hush, Before I Wake, Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep. The script is also by Mike Flanagan, adapted from Stephen King’s novella of the same name. Produced by Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy. This initially premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year where it won the People’s Choice Award. Neon debuts Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck in select US theaters starting June 6th, 2025 this summer season. Any good?
