Freaky Teaser for ‘Him’ Starring Tyriq Withers – Football Horror Movie

“What would you sacrifice to become the greatest of all time?” Universal has unveiled the first teaser trailer for a novel horror movie called Him, a totally bonkers original horror concept involving an ambitious football player. This is produced by Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw, made by filmmaker Justin Tipping as his second feature after Kicks previously. A promising newborn football player joins an isolated compound to train under a dynasty team’s aging quarterback – but there’s something else sinister going on in this place. “A chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, idolatry and the pursuit of excellence at any cost, featuring an electrifying dramatic performance from Marlon Wayans.” Him is an original horror movie set for release in September at the end of the summer. Starring former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, with Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, and Marlon Wayans. What?! There’s so many “WTF?!” shots in this trailer flying at us that I don’t even know what to say at first. This could be awesome.

“Greatness demand sacrifice.” 🏈 Him stars wide-receiver Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan & suffers potentially career-ending brain trauma. Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans most recently in Air, Respect), a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback & cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (Julia Fox). But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for…

Him is directed by up-and-coming American filmmaker Justin Tipping, making his second feature after directing the film Kicks previously; plus a director of episodes of “The Chi”, “Twenties”, “Run the World”, “Flatbush Misdemeanors”, “Joe vs. Carole” series most recently. The Blacklist screenplay is written by Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie and Justin Tipping. Produced by Ian Cooper, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, Jamal M. Watson. Made by Monkeypaw Productions. Universal will release Tipping’s Him horror movie in theaters nationwide starting on September 19th, 2025 coming up later this year. First impression? Who’s down?
