Fiftieth Anniversary screenings of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws and Ramesh Sippy’s Indian action epic Sholay are among the TIFF Classics programme unveiled on Friday by Toronto International Film festival (TIFF, September 4-14).

The selection of 4K restorations include the tardy Portuguese filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira’s children’s tale Aniki-Bóbó, Iranian New Wave pioneer Bahram Beyzaie’s Bashu, The Little Stranger, T’ang Shushuen’s early independent Hong Kong film The Arch, and Michael Almereyda’s New York-set Dracula interpretation Nadja.

TIFF Classics are supported by Ontario Creates and the Canada Council for the Arts, presented by Mubi, and programmed by Robyn Citizen, TIFF’s director of programming, and senior curator Andréa Picard.
