A truly unforgettable night in the club scene of Bushwick, Brooklyn is teeing up the terror-filled debut trailer for Tina Romero’s Queens of the Dead. The highly-anticipated feature-length directorial debut from the daughter of George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) has finally landed its first official teaser, giving audiences nothing but glitz, glamour, fabulousness, and plenty of zombies. Featuring a stacked cast that includes the familiar faces of Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Nina West (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow) and more, the movie will give viewers pause the next time they head out for the night.

When we meet Dre (O’Brian) at the top of the Queens of the Dead trailer, they’re doing their best to make a terrible situation better. It’s just hours until the party starts and, thanks to a missing DJ and a clogged toilet, the night’s outlook is not looking good. Meanwhile, the queens are in the dressing room, prepping for the large show ahead, but outside, there’s something lurking in the shadows. A zombie outbreak has just taken over Manhattan and the other four boroughs, with those who survived the initial attack forced to take shelter in the glitter-filled club. What happens next is a bloodbath overflowing with camp, glam, and looks, as this hodge-podge group attempts to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Pulling together an impressive call sheet for her first foray into filmmaking, Romero also enlisted the talents of Jaquel Spivey (Mean Girls), Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), Margaret Cho, Dominique Jackson (Pose) and Tomas Matos (Fire Island) for what’s sure to be a night you won’t soon forget at the hottest fictional club in Brooklyn — all of which you can attend without actually leaving the house (what a dream!).

What Critics Are Saying About ‘Queens of the Dead’

Already picking up accolades left and right, Queens of the Dead nabbed the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature following its world premiere earlier this year at the Tribeca Festival. Rating the production with seven out of ten stars, Collider’s Luna Guthrie praised the title for its ability to perfectly blend horror with comedy, writing,

“As you might expect from its premise, Queens of the Dead takes a much more comedically-oriented approach to its material, playing up the camp elements and making it into a fabulous, tongue-in-cheek cabaret show. But the unexpected thing is that when it needs to, the movie allows its characters to genuinely feel the weight of what’s going on around them. When someone’s friend or loved one is munched on by the undead, the action slows down and gives them the time to feel the grief and panic of the situation. It doesn’t immediately cut back to wacky hijinks or a saucy one-liner.”
