Mourning and Condolences

The Syndicate of Actors of Theater, Cinema and Radio in Lebanon mourned Samir Shams and wrote on its official Facebook page: “The rest of you are alive. Another giant of the giants of art leaves us with tranquility and dignity. The great artist Samir Shams has passed away. With great sadness and sorrow, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our fellow artists, the Syndicate of Actors, and to the honorable family for the loss of our colleague and great man, Mr. Samir Shams… To God we belong and to Him we shall return.”

The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM today at Rawdat Al-Shahedain Cemetery, and the condolences for Samir Shams will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the headquarters of the Association for Specialization and Scientific Guidance in Ramlet Al-Baida.

Life and Career

Samir Shams was born on November 25, 1942. He is a Lebanese actor and writer who started his career in the early sixties. He presented more than 90 works, including “Safar Barlek”, “Bint Al-Harith”, “Daera Al-Daw”, “Al-Asal Al-Bur”, “Shari’ Al-Dhabab”, “Al-Shareedan”, “Ragel Min Al-Madi”, “Al-Enab Al-Bur”, “Al-Armleh Wal-Shaytan”, and his last series was “Faraj and Rahma” in 2019, in which he appeared as a guest of honor.

Achievements and Appearances

The Egyptian audience got to know Samir Shams through his participation in the series “A Woman from the Era of Love” with Samira Ahmed in 1998. He also participated in the film “Africano” with Ahmed El Sakka and Mona Zaki in 2001, and in director Enas El Degheidy’s film “The Searchers for Freedom” in 2005.
