Mubi Secures Multi-Territory Deal for Luca Guadagnino’s Queer

Film Joins Mubi Slate Featuring Andrea Arnold, Magnus von Horn, Chris Andrews, and Mati Diop

Mubi has acquired the rights to Luca Guadagnino’s latest film, Queer, for distribution in multiple territories. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last month, is an adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novel by writer Justin Kuritzkes.

The film features an all-star cast, including Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville, and David Lowery. The film is a production from Fremantle and Fremantle North America, in collaboration with Cinecitta and Frame by Frame, with Fremantle Group financing the project.

Release Plans and Schedule

Mubi’s release plans for Queer will be announced shortly. In the meantime, the film will have its US premiere as the Spotlight Gala at the New York Film Festival this month, followed by its UK premiere as a Special Presentation at the BFI London Film Festival. The film will also be released in cinemas in Italy through Lucky Red, with rights excluding theatrical in Italy reserved for Mubi.
