Netflix has finally uncorked the first look at House of Guinness, its sweeping up-to-date period drama from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. The official trailer dropped this morning ahead of the show’s September 25 premiere, and it looks like it’ll be far from a frothy and silky journey — like the drink they’re known for. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, House of Guinness begins in the aftermath of Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death. He was the visionary who transformed the family brewery into a global powerhouse, but his passing sets off a storm that ripples across both continents. His four adult children—Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben—are thrust into the center of a high-stakes struggle over inheritance, legacy, and power.
The official logline describes the series as exploring “the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.”
Who Is In ‘House of Guinness’?
The cast is stacked with some of the UK and Ireland’s most electrifying actors. It includes Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air) as Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn(The Responder) as Anne Guinness (later Anne Plunket), and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) as Benjamin Guinness. Joining them are James Norton (Happy Valley) as Sean Rafferty, Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country) as Aunt Agnes Guinness, Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) as Byron Hedges, Niamh McCormack (Everything Now) as Ellen Cochrane, Danielle Galligan (Shadow and Bone) as Lady Olivia Hedges, Ann Skelly (The Nevers) as Adelaide Guinness, and Seamus O’Hara (Blue Lights) as Patrick Cochrane, as well as Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Jessica Reynolds, Niamh McCormack, Hilda Fay, Elizabeth Daulau, and Michael Colgan.
Knight spearheaded the series, continuing his run of ambitious projects alongside the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie and his recently announced James Bond script for Amazon MGM. The show is produced by Kudos and Nebulastar, with Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, Tom Shankland, and Ivana Lowell serving as executive producers. Shankland directs the first block of episodes, while Mounia Akl helms the second.
House of Guinness premieres globally on Netflix on September 25, 2025.
