Pamela Anderson is an actor, yes. But in her spare time, the 58-year-old loves to cook. After publishing a cookbook called I Love You: Recipes From the Heart, she unveiled a cooking show called Pamela’s Cooking With Love last February. The series, available on Prime Video, invites chefs to join Anderson at her property on Vancouver Island to prepare delicious plant-based dishes together.
One week after that series launched, Meghan Markle debuted With Love, Meghan—an eight-episode culinary series on Netflix. In this program, the duchess invites her closest friends to her California estate, where she shares her secrets for cooking, gardening, and entertaining. Internet users were quick to accuse the wife of Prince Harry of plagiarism, noting a number of similarities between her show and Anderson’s. The titles both feature the phrase “With Love,” and both shows share the premise of inviting guests to a magnificent home.
On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Anderson finally had her say on the affair. Does she believe Markle copied her? “On a scale from 1 to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela’s Cooking With Love?” host Andy Cohen asked. “There were articles saying that these two shows are very similar.”
“One,” Anderson replied, looking surprised—before following up at the host’s insistence. “I didn’t really look, but yeah, I didn’t invent cooking shows.… She’s just doing her thing,” the actor concluded.
The shows launching within a week of each means it would have been pretty arduous for one to plagiarize the other. In any case, despite the chatter and an allegedly cancelled Netflix contract, the duchess’s show has been renewed for a second season, scheduled for autumn 2025. As for Anderson, she seems to be temporarily leaving the kitchen to focus on her return to cinema and her fresh romance with Liam Neeson—her screen partner in The Naked Gun, which is out now.
