“What have you done with our music?!” Doppelgänger Releasing has unveiled the US trailer for the Finnish indie film called Heavier Trip, a difficult rock comedy sequel to the 2018 film Heavy Trip. The original is a Finnish rock comedy about a band coming together for a massive show. This sequel picks up where things left off and follows them on another road trip. Impaled Rektum must escape prison when the guitarist’s father falls ill and their family home faces demolition. Shackled by fate and locked up in a Norwegian prison, the band discovers their lead guitarist’s family reindeer slaughterhouse faces financial troubles. They receive an offer to play a major massive metal festival – Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany – but decline due to being imprisoned and unprepared. Only the raw power of metal can determine their fate! Prepare for a relentless odyssey of sound, fury, and the unbreakable spirit of true massive metal in this sequel. Starring Johannes Holopainen, Max Ovaska, Chike Ohanwe, Samuli Jaskio, Martti Syrjä, David Bredin, Anatole Taubman, Mats Eldøen, Helén Vikstvedt, & Sinikka Mokkila. Impaled Rektum is in a dire situation – jail. Despite receiving an offer to perform at Germany’s prestigious Wacken Open Air festival, they decline due to their unpreparedness and imprisonment. However, a family emergency arises, as the guitarist’s father falls seriously ill, and their family home and slaughterhouse face demolition. It’s time for Impaled Rektum to rise once more and make their escape. Heavier Trip, also known as Hevimpi Reissu or Heavier Trip: Road to Wacken, is co-directed by Finnish filmmakers Juuso Laatio & Jukka Vidgren, both directors of the first Heavy Trip film previously and a few other projects. Produced by Kaarle Aho, Kai Nordberg, Jukka Vidgren. This first premiered at the 2024 Filmfest Hamburg Festival a few months ago, and it already opened in Finland in October. Doppelgänger will release Heavier Trip in select US theaters + on VOD starting November 29th, 2024 this fall. Anyone down to watch this?
