Upload fans, the end is officially in sight, as today, Prime Video has dropped the trailer for the title’s fourth and final season. On August 25, audiences can tune in to binge all four episodes of the special finale event that will serve as a book-end for the latest project to come from Greg Daniels (The Office). This time around, it looks like the residents of Lakeview will be facing similar problems to those in the real world after AI takes control. Meanwhile, after last season’s cliffhanger, viewers will find out what happened to Robbie Amell’s Nathan, with his fate directly tying into the fate of everyone he loves.
The opening sequence of the trailer reveals that audiences will pick up shortly following that Season 3 cliffhanger. A surprise visit from Nathan leaves Nora (Andy Allo) in a state of desperate shock after he asks her to find him. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what the real story at the center of Upload’s final season will be, as it’s obvious that greed from the corporate overlords will lead to the creation of a very different Lakeview. Unfortunately, the AI that the company has put in charge quickly becomes sentient and has plans of its own — plans that involve wiping out the afterlife care community completely. Both the living and those in the afterlife will need to rise to the occasion if they have any hopes of holding onto everything — and everyone — they love.
For the final foray, many of the familiar faces from previous seasons of Upload are set to return. In addition to Amell reprising his role as Nathan and Allo as Nora, the last four episodes will also include performances by Kevin Bigley (Sirens) as Luke, Allegra Edwards (Ghosts) as Ingrid, Zainab Johnson (Tab Time) as Aleesha, and Owen Daniels (Space Force) as the gigantic bad behind Season 4 — A.I. Guy.
What Else Does Greg Daniels Have on the Way?
With Upload coming to an end, audiences might be wondering what Daniels, one of the minds behind The Office and Parks and Recreation, has on the way next. In just a few weeks, Daniels will pair up with Peacock to bring viewers The Paper, a modern mockumentary that follows in the steps of The Office. Starring Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, and more, the modern series will center around a failing newspaper in Ohio.
