A modern Pride festival celebrating LGBTQ representation in entertainment is coming to Los Angeles, just in time for the 25th anniversary of Queer as Folk.

Cast members of the Showtime series will reunite for the first ever Pride Live! Hollywood, running June 11-29, also featuring a Golden Girls 40th birthday and a tribute to the behind schedule Norman Lear, among other events at venues around Hollywood.

“It’s more important than ever that we celebrate the fabulous light of programs like Queer as Folk, not to mention Pride LIVE! Hollywood’s other offerings,” said Scott Lowell, who played Ted Schmidt in the 2000-’05 series. “Especially during Pride Month in LA at a festival that not only acknowledges the past but shows us the path forward.”

Lowell will reunite with co-stars Hal Sparks, Robert Gant, Michelle Clunie, Thea Gill, Peter Paige and Sharon Gless, as well as creators Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman for the festival.

The 40th anniversary salute to The Golden Girls will feature a panel with series writers Rick Copp, Jim Vallely, Stan Zimmerman, James Berg and script supervisor Isabel Omero.

Kicking off with a special introduction from wife Lyn, the opening night tribute to Norman Lear will celebrate his contributions to LGBTQ television with One Day at a Time‘s Isabella Gomez, All in the Family guest star K Callan, and writers/producers Gail Parent (Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman), Jay Moriarty (The Jeffersons), Bob Illes (Sanford and Son and Fernwood 2 Nite), Mike Royce (One Day at a Time), Dan Ewen (Clean Slate) and Greg Cope White (Netflix’s upcoming series Boots).

Other festival highlights include the Los Angeles premieres of Unicorns and A Big Gay Hairy Hit! Where the Bears Are: The Documentary, a Saturday Night Fever screening at the W Hotel Hollywood with a rooftop disco dance party and screenings of Relax… It’s Just Sex, The World According to Allee Willis, The Big Johnson, Things Like This, The Grotto and more.

Festival attendees can also enjoy an LGBTQ author roundtable, live performances at Amoeba Music and a tour of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
