The 81st Venice International Film Festival has announced the official screening dates for the Egyptian film “Searching for an Exit for Mr. Rambo” by director Khaled Mansour, as part of the Orizzonti Extra program. The film is scheduled to have three screenings during the festival, with its official world premiere on Wednesday, September 4, at 9:00 pm in the SALA GIARDINO cinema hall, preceded on the same day and in the same hall, but at 2:30 pm, by a special screening for press and industry professionals. The third and final screening will be on Thursday, September 5, at 9:00 am in the SALA GIARDINO hall.

The world premiere will be attended by the film’s stars Essam Omar, Reem Saad, Ahmed Bahaa, and Sama Ibrahim, along with director and writer Khaled Mansour, and producers Mohamed Hefzy and Rasha Hosny. Plot
The film, a drama, revolves around Hassan, a young man in his thirties who rediscovers himself once again and is forced to confront the fears of his past during his journey to save his dog and only friend, “Rambo”, from an unknown fate, after he was involved in a serious accident without guilt, and he becomes overnight pursued by Karem, Hassan’s neighbor, and all the people of the neighborhood.

The film recently won the Visual Identity Services and DCP Services Award for a Post-Production Project, presented by Creative Media Solutions at the 5th Amman Industry Days and Amman Project Market, and has also received a number of production grants including the Red Sea Film Fund Production Grant, the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) Feature Film Production Grant, and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) Film Production Grant.
Development and Financing Laboratories
The film script participated in a number of development and financing laboratories, including the French film development program La Fabrique Cinéma Programme, the Beirut Film Forum for developing and supporting films, the film development workshop organized by the Royal Jordanian Commission, the Dot.on.the.map program as part of the Cyprus Film Days Festival, and the Cine Films Workshop for developing films in Egypt. The film script also participated in a number of film financing markets, including the Malmö Arab Film Festival market in Sweden and the Durban Film Festival market in South Africa.
Final Cut Program Selection
On the other hand, the Final Cut program in Venice also selected 3 ongoing film projects (out of 7 feature films selected this year) produced by Film Clinic and distributed by Film Clinic Independent for distribution in the Middle East region: “Aisha Can’t Fly” by Murad Mustafa, “Cologne” by Mohamed Siam, and “Even in the Dark I See You” by Nadeem Thabet.
