With Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds engaging in warp speed, fans at Comic-Con were treated to a sneak peek at Season 4.

During Saturday’s Star Trek universe presentation in Hall H, the Paramount+ series debuted a clip of Anson Mount‘s Captain Christopher Pike in puppet form as he commands the USS Enterprise in an upcoming episode from the fourth season, directed by Jordan Canning (Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock) with a full starship crew of puppets from Jim Henson‘s Creature Shop.

“Hit it,” says Pike as his puppet version is dramatically revealed in the captain’s chair, cuing the Season 4 title card before returning to the captain, breaking an awkward pause. “You heard me say hit it, right? Spock? Anyone? Did you go to Season 4 without me?”

In addition to the Season 4 clip, fans at SDCC were also treated to a special advanced screening of the upcoming Season 3 episode ‘A Space Adventure Hour’, which debuts Thursday, July 31 on Paramount+, also streaming July 31 through Aug. 6 on Pluto TV.

Directed by Jonathan Frakes, the murder mystery episode sees La’An (Christina Chong) test a prototype holodeck with a fictional case only she can solve, as the consequences of failure get greater and greater, with the Enterprise hanging in the balance.

Saturday’s presentation featured a Strange New World panel moderated by franchise veteran Robert Picardo, with co-showrunners and executive producers Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, executive producer Alex Kurtzman, and cast members Chong, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush and Paul Wesley.

Last month, Paramount+ renewed Strange New Worlds for its fifth and final season.
