The historic city of Jeddah became the epicenter of global cinema as the Red Sea International Film Festival kicked off its fourth edition under the theme, “A New Home for Cinema.” Running from December 6 to 14, 2024, the festival brought together stars, filmmakers, and cinema enthusiasts from around the world, solidifying Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation as a cultural hub.

A Grand Opening Night

The opening ceremony, hosted by Hakim Jumaa and Daniela Rahma, celebrated the festival’s commitment to storytelling, diversity, and cinematic excellence. The highlight of the evening was the premiere of “The Tale of Daye’s Family,” directed by Karim El Shenawy. This touching film tells the story of Daye, a Nubian teenager with albinism, as he journeys with his family from Aswan to Cairo in pursuit of his musical dreams.
