Warner Bros’ sequel to The Batman is gearing up to shoot in the UK in the spring of 2026.
Pre-production is already underway for Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II which sees Robert Pattinson return as the eponymous DC superhero. Colin Farrell will also star, following on from the Batman spin-off series The Penguin for HBO.
Filming will reportedly take place at Warner Bros Leavesden, home of production on the first The Batman feature, but this is yet to be confirmed. Screen has reached out to Warner Bros for comment.
Warner Bros CEO and president David Zaslav confirmed the shoot date in a letter to stakeholders on Friday (August 8) which began with praise for the recent success of the company’s $600m hit Superman, directed by DC Studios head James Gunn.
“In film, James Gunn is busy preparing the next instalments of the DC super family, including Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026), Clayface (2026) and the next Wonder Woman.
“In addition, The Batman II (2027) is preparing to begin shooting next spring, among several other projects in development.”
The film has faced several delays but is now scheduled for a release on October 1, 2027.
