“Not everything is supposed to make you comfortable.” We’re only a week away from the start of the 2025 New York Film Festival held ever years the glamorous Lincoln Center in NYC’s Upper West Side. To kick off the final days of cinema buzz, the NYFF has just revealed their annual official festival trailer (which we usually feature every year). “This week we’re excited to present a special preview of the 63rd New York Film Festival, beginning next Friday, September 26 and running through October 13. Tickets to this year’s festival are still available but going fast!” The NYFF is the annual best-of-the-best festival line-up that plays the greatest selection of films from ALL of the other fests all year, along with a few world premieres of its own (this year they’re featuring Ronan Day-Lewis’ Anemone and Bradley Cooper’s Is This Thing On?). The trailer below features rad techno music (created by Kangding Ray) from Sirat, one of my favorite films at Cannes 2025 which they’re showing at NYFF. Along with a bunch of other really marvelous films – including other faves: The Love That Remains, Sentimental Value, A House of Dynamite, Miroirs No. 3, & Nouvelle Vague.
The trailer was edited by Jump Cut & features music from Oliver Laxe’s NYFF63 Main Slate selection Sirât, composed by Kangding Ray. Enter the contest identifying the trailer footage here to win some fest tickets. Presented by Film at Lincoln Center, the New York Film Festival highlights the best in world cinema.
