“Ain’t no running from it, is there?” Shout Studios has revealed the first official trailer for an indie western thriller film titled Killing Faith, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Ned Crowley. This one is actually getting a theatrical release in October, on account of the mainstream cast featuring some major names. I always wonder how they got them? In the lawless frontier of 1849, a deadly sickness spreads — and with it, rumors of a newborn girl who’s cursed by the devil. One man must choose whether to run, or stand and protect the innocent. A widowed doctor helps escort a freed slave and her daughter across the West to find a distant Faith Healer. The mother believes the girl is possessed. The doctor suspects she just has the disease they call “The Sickness”. But one fact remains – everything the child touches dies. Scary! The recent western-thriller stars Guy Pearce, DeWanda Wise, Bill Pullman, Raoul Trujillo, Jamie Neumann, Jack Alcott, Joanna Cassidy, and Emily Ford. Alas this doesn’t look like anything engaging or entertaining.

In the lawless frontier of 1849 during summer, a widowed physician reluctantly agrees to take a recently freed slave and her mysterious Caucasian daughter on a 5-day journey through the bloody West to find a distant town’s Faith Healer. The woman believes her daughter is possessed. The doctor believes she simply carries The Sickness. Either way, every living thing that the girl touches mysteriously dies. One man must choose whether to run, or stand and protect the innocent. Killing Faith is directed by newcomer filmmaker Ned Crowley, making his feature directorial debut with this film. The screenplay is written by Ned Crowley and David Henri Martin; from a story by Crowley. Produced by Zori Davidkova, Wes Hager, David Henri Martin, Ned Crowley. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Shout Studios debuts Crowley’s Killing Faith film in select US theaters starting October 3rd, 2025 this fall. Look good?
