Paramount Pictures has landed rights to the Constantin Film package Regretting You, an adaptation of the 2019 bestseller by Colleen Hoover, author of It Ends With Us, whose adaptation became a big sleeper hit.

Regretting You will be directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) and will star Get Out and M3GAN’s All Allison Williams, Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) and Mason Thames (Black Phone).

Robert Kulzer is producing for Constantin Film alongside Harbinger Pictures’ Brunson Green, Frayed Pages Media’s Anna Todd, and Flavia Viotti. The author will be executive producer. The script is by Susan McMartin (After). Deadline revealed last month that this would be a hot package unveiled by WME Independent and North.Five.Six.

It Ends with Us was published in 43 languages and became the best-selling book of 2022, spending more than 90 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. The film clocked a global gross north of $311 million.

While everyone at Paramount is holding their collective breath waiting to see what the future direction of the studio will be under the incoming owners at Skydance, the film brass has been doing some inventive things. The studio opened in Toronto Better Man, the biomusical about singer Robbie Williams by director Michael Gracey that got strong audience response. This on top of the A Quiet Place prequel, the animated Transformers One, Smile 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 with Jim Carrey reprising. It comes after the sleeper hit Bob Marley: One Love, and Paramount has the Ridley Scott-directed Gladiator II arriving in theaters November 22 with Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Connie Nielsen starring.
