EXCLUSIVE: Yasmin Al-Khudhairi, Hiam Abbass, Amir El-Masry and Lindsay Duncan are starring in Fateme Ahmadi’s directorial debut Daughter Of Eden, with filming underway in Dublin.

Set in London in 2006, the film is a psychological thriller about a British-Iraqi nurse whose need for answers draws her deep into another family’s life, after a chance encounter with an older woman she suspects is connected to her parents’ fate in Iraq.

The film is a UK-Ireland co-production between Lunapark Pictures, Shudder Films and Newgrange Pictures, with producers Jack Tarling and Pietro Greppi, and co-producer Jackie Larkin.

The film was developed with the BFI and BBC Film, both of which are backing the film; in association with Screen Ireland, Civic Studios and TPC.

Executive producers are Louise Ortega for BFI, Kristin Irving for BBC Film, Greg Martin for Screen Ireland, Anushka Shah for Civic Studios and Ali Jazayeri and Keith Kehoe for TPC.

Iranian-British filmmaker Ahmadi’s 2018 Bitter Sea was nominated for best tiny at the 2018 British Independent Film Awards; while tiny Leila’s Blues played in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight the same year.

Tarling has produced films including Kneecap and God’s Own Country through his Shudder Films; while Greppi’s credits include Flux Gourmet and Departure; and Larkin’s include Stella Days and Mrs Wilson.
