“Tell me why I’m here!!” Dark Sky has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled Bark, set for release on VOD this June in the US. It originally premiered back in 2023 at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and a few other festivals last year. This German production shot in English is a strange horror story of a guy who wakes up strapped to a tree trying to figure out where the hell he is and what’s going on. How’s that for a plot! This would not be fun for anyone. Nolan Bentley wakes up in the middle of a remote forest tied to a tree. With time running out, he must finally reckon with the demons of his past and fight to survive to find a way out of his nightmare. This stars Michael Weston as Nolan, plus A.J. Buckley and Ricky Watson. He’s not the only one in the cast, there’s much more going on in here. This trailer first introduces the initial stuck in the forest premise, then drops teases hinting at a bigger psychological thriller game. Worth a watch.
Here’s the official trailer (+ posters) for Marc Schölermann’s horror film Bark, direct from YouTube:
Nolan Bentley (Michael Weston) awakens bound to a tree in some distant forest, with his memory blank. As time continues ticking away, a cryptic figure emerges… Facing his inner demons, Nolan struggles to escape his dire predicament and unravel the mystery of his surroundings. Bark is directed by German producer / filmmaker Marc Schölermann, director of the film Pathology (2008) previously, plus many other miniature films and music videos as well. Produced by Alexander Steinhoff and Marc Schölermann. This was filmed in Germany and made as a German production shot in English. The film initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2023, and was released on DVD in Germany already in slow 2024. Dark Sky Films will debut Schölermann’sBark horror film direct-to-VOD in the US starting June 13th, 2025. Does it look any good?
