Acclaimed actor Johnny Depp was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Rome Film Festival, marking a significant moment in his illustrious career. Depp attended the event to celebrate the premiere of his latest film, Modi – Three Days on the Edge of Madness, alongside the film’s cast and creative team.
During his acceptance speech, the Oscar-nominated actor expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans and colleagues. “Thank you, everyone. I am deeply humbled; without you, I would not be here or, most likely, anywhere at all,” Depp said, showcasing his profound connection with those who have supported him throughout his journey.
Beyond expressing thanks, Depp hoped that his latest film would serve as a source of inspiration. “I must commend you all; you have truly been warriors and champions, and you are the reason I continue to strive in filmmaking. I am immensely fortunate to still be here, and that’s largely because of you. So, thank you. I hope Modi offers you inspiration as you all inspire me.”
The distinguished recognition was presented to the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star by festival directors Riccardo Scamarcio and Paola Malanga. The honor highlighted Depp’s contributions to cinema and celebrated his enduring legacy in the film industry.
Modi – Three Days on the Edge of Madness is set to be released in theaters on December 5, 2024.
