Ho-yeah, King of the Hill fans — it’s finally happening. Hulu has dropped the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated Season 14 of Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ beloved animated sitcom, confirming that the current batch of episodes will premiere on Monday, August 4 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Set several years after we last saw Hank, Peggy, and Bobby Hill, the current season picks up with the Hill family returning to Arlen, Texas, after working abroad in Saudi Arabia. Hank (voiced by Mike Judge) is now retired and slightly greyer, Peggy (voiced by Kathy Najimy) is still as confident as ever, and Bobby (voiced by Pamela Adlon) is a 21-year-old chef living in Dallas and embracing adulthood alongside familiar faces like Joseph, Connie, and Chane.
Joining the voice cast is Ronny Chieng, who steps into the role of the hilariously proud and perpetually annoyed Kahn Souphanousinphone, Connie’s father and Hank’s longtime neighbor. Kahn, still ultra-competitive and status-obsessed, will undoubtedly continue to butt heads with Hank in his usual passive-aggressive glory. Season 14 will feature ten current episodes, and marks the first King of the Hill season since the original run ended in 2009. It’s helmed by original creators Judge and Daniels, with Saladin Patterson (Psych) joining as showrunner. Executive producers also include Michael Rotenberg, Howard Klein, and Dustin Davis.
What Can We Expect From ‘King of the Hill’s Return?
It’s clear from that initial look at the show, we get a glimpse of how much (and how little) has changed in Arlen. Dale Gribble (voiced by the slow Johnny Hardwick) may or may not have become the mayor. Boomhauer (Judge) and Bill (Stephen Root) are still regulars outside the Hills’ fence, and Bobby’s culinary dreams are taking him far from his dad’s beloved propane tanks. We also get blink-and-you’ll-miss-them teases of Connie’s overbearing mother Minh, Joseph’s actual dad John Redcorn, and a handful of new-age tech updates that’ll likely leave Hank muttering, “That boy ain’t right.”
For longtime fans, this revival is more than just a nostalgia trip — it’s a genuine continuation of one of TV’s most down-to-earth and brilliant animated comedies. Whether you’re in it for the propane, the Boggle tournaments, or the awkward father-son talks on the lawn, King of the Hill is back — and it feels just as relevant (and entertaining) as ever.
King of the Hill Season 14 premieres August 4 on Hulu. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates from Arlen.
