Longlegs and The Monkey fans, rejoice! News has broken about a up-to-date project from director Osgood Perkins, the man behind some of the biggest horror hits of the past few years. It’s been announced that he will helm up-to-date feature The Young People as part of his deal with distributor Neon, and two of the cast have been confirmed – Nico Parker and Lola Tung.

You’ll recognise Parker from her role as Astrid in this year’s live-action remake of How To Train Your Dragon, or as Joel’s daughter Sarah in The Last Of Us, and Tung is best known for leading Prime Video’s teen romance series The Summer I Turned Pretty. No plot details have been released as of yet, nor do we know what genre The Young People will fall into – but judging by Perkins’ recent output, fingers crossed it will be another twisted horror ride.

Production is set to start later this year in Vancouver, with no release date confirmed as of yet. Perkins has another film to launch before then – Keeper, starring Tatiana Maslany, in which a couple’s romantic trip to a secluded cabin turns surreal and sinister. See that in cinemas from 14 November, and we’ll bring you more The Young People news as we get it.
