“Find forgiveness!” “Why should I do the forgiving?” Time for X-Mas fun! True Brit Ent. has revealed the first official trailer for a musical comedy Christmas movie called Christmas Karma – from the acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha (best known for the films Bend It Like Beckham, Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging, Blinded By The Light). I’m a substantial fan of Chadha and her films (and her musicals) so I have to say I’m curious to see how this out plays. Take Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol story, add heaps of British musical and acting talent, and you have a modern-day film set in vivid, diverse London. Told from Chadha’s unique point of view and in her own distinctive style – starring actor Kunal Nayyar as Eshaan Sood, the Ebenezer Scrooge of this modern-day “It’s a Wonderful Life” story in the UK. The whimsical cast includes Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Boy George, Danny Dyer, Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, Charithra Chandran, and Hugh Bonneville. With music from Gary Barlow, Nitin Sawhney, Shaznay Lewis, Ben Cullum, Panjabi MC, Jassi Sidhu and Malkit Singh, the film features an eclectic soundtrack influenced by gospel, bhangra, carols, rap and classic pop songs. You will not be able to sit still! 🎅 The “festive, feel-good event of the year” opens in UK cinemas in November. Though still no US release set. A bit too British for American audiences?
