John Travolta will present his directorial debut Propeller One-Way Night Coach at Cannes Film Festival 2026.

The film will have its world premiere in the Cannes Premiere section, a non-competitive strand that is part of the official selection.

The Apple Original Films title is an adaptation of Travolta’s own 1997 book. Inspired by the actor’s childhood memories and love of aviation, the story follows a adolescent airplane enthusiast and his mother as they set off on a one-way cross-country journey to Hollywood.

Newcomer Clark Shotwell leads the cast as the adolescent boy, alongside Kelly Eviston-Quinnett as his mother.

The film is produced by Travolta for his JTP Productions, with Jason Berger and Amy Laslett of Kids At Play. It will debut on the Apple TV streaming platform on May 29.

Travolta has previously appeared in three Cannes titles: 1994 Palme d’Or-winner Pulp Fiction, 1997 Competition title She’s So Lovely and 1998 out of Competition entry Primary Colors.

Cannes will unveil its 2026 official selection one week from today, on Thursday, April 9. South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook will serve as president of the Competition jury, with Pierre Salvadori’s period romantic comedy La Vénus Electrique opening the festival.
