“One magical quill. One unlikely hero. One world worth saving.” Viva Kids Film has revealed their official US trailer for an animated adventure movie called Cloud Girl, another recent French animation creation. It already premiered at the 2026 Annecy Film Festival in the summer and it opened in France in July during the summer. “What if everything you imagined could become real?” Providence, a 12-year-old dreamer, and her hilarious guinea pig Airbag (which she gives the power to talk), suddenly find themselves in possession of a magic pen that makes everything written with it come true. With this superpower, they embark on an incredible journey. Filled with breathtaking voyages, unexpected friendships, laugh-out-loud moments, and a bright message about courage, creativity, and protecting our pretty planet, Cloud Girl is an enchanting adventure that reminds us all that the power to change the world begins with our imagination. The original French title is La Fille dans les nuages which translates to Girl in the Clouds. This US release version includes an English voice cast featuring Faith Delaney as Providence and Hugh Laurie as Airbag. Enjoy.
Here’s the official US trailer (+ posters) for Philippe Riche’s movie Cloud Girl, direct from YouTube:
Providence is a 12-year-old dreamer whose favorite stories will become reality. When a mysterious author gives her a magical quill capable of bringing anything she writes to life, Providence discovers the greatest adventures aren’t just in books. Sometimes, you have to write your own. Armed with limitless imagination and joined by Airbag – her hilariously opinionated talking guinea pig – she sets off on an extraordinary journey across the globe to save a planet in danger. But with a powerful villain threatening the world and magic that doesn’t always go according to plan, she will discover what it truly means to be a hero. Along the way, she’ll learn even the smallest dreamer can make the biggest difference. Cloud Girl, also known as La fille dans les nuages, is directed by filmmaker Philippe Riche, making his first feature after directing the “Chronokids” series, along with lots of other animation work. The screenplay is by Luc Bossi, Philippe Riche, Romain Puértolas; based on Romain Puértolas’s novel. Produced by Luc Bossi. This first premiered at the 2026 Annecy Film Festival earlier this year and it opened in France back in July. Viva Kids will release Riche’s Cloud Girl movie in US theaters starting January 8th, 2027 early next year. Who wants to watch?
